The days are getting shorter and the evenings are drawing in, but for the moment it is still quite warm at least. When Daddy comes home just after 6 in the evening it is family dinner time, but after dinner is very much Monkey and Daddy time. Monkey loves the time he gets to spend with his Daddy and lately they have been very much making the most of the warm evenings and having a lot fun in the garden between dinner and bathtime. Monkey always has loads of energy at this time of day so I guess that’s why it is called the witching hour!
Most of the time I leave them to it but a couple of times lately I have poked my head out to watch the giggles.
Sometimes they do a bit of gardening, and Monkey loves running under the stream of water from the hose if Daddy is watering the plants.
Sometimes they just run around like a pair of loonies, or play in the sand pit, or on his climbing frame.
Whatever they do though they have a lot of fun together and the fun continues into bathtime. There was so much giggling at bathtime the other day that I poked my head in… to be told “bye mummy, close the door” by Monkey. Charming eh? I know when I am not wanted! 😉 Made me chuckle and made me very happy to know he was just having fun with his Daddy 🙂
Ah, it is so lovely that they get that time together, and it’s perfect for burning any energy off before bedtime, too! Your garden’s looking very pretty now, too 🙂 xx
Definitely good to burn off that energy, and just lovely time with his daddy 🙂 Thank you, it’s generally covered in sand and toys but as long as we have fun out there that’s all that matters!! xx

Wonderful to have a garden at time like these isn’t it? its also a huge blessing in our house too when the kids don’t seem that tired, so just run wild outside 🙂 chasing Daddy and being silly. childhood at its finest 🙂 xx

Hello there, that’s lovely-we do a similar thing in our house where Daddy takes our little boy into the garden or to the allotment, or even swimming if little one is in the mood! They both love it and can spend a bit of quality time together after Daddy has been at work all day. Really lovely photos as well by the way xxx #magicmoments

Daddies are so great for fun aren’t they, my two go completely loopy when my husband comes home and all hell breaks loose for a while until I have to call time and they have to go to bed. Looks like Monkey is having a great time, and your garden looks so nice and tidy! #letkidsbekids

Oh this is so lovely- really important for them to get one on one time together and must be so lovely to occasionally peek your head round and watch them. Even from the photos you can tell they are having a wonderful time together- a perfect little routine! x

Yes, my son loves it when Daddy is home. And isn’t it lovely to still be outside-I do find the winter nights much more challenging in that sense 🙂
