Monkey loves painting and given a choice it is often a go to activity for him. Most of the time I am happy to let his imagination take the lead but a few weeks ago I thought I would spice some things up and introduce him to the idea of painting with some new textures.
We had fun with bubble wrap..
cotton wool balls..
scrunched up tin foil..
pipe cleaners..
and feathers.
It was great fun and such a simple activity. Monkey loved seeing the different results for each of the textures and we talked about what they felt like.
Both of mine love painting so will def have to try some of these techniques.

Great idea and so inexpensive. My last attempt to use anything other than paintbrushes ended in hand printing! #toddlerapprovedtuesday
These are some great textures. I’ve been trying to do some more messy play with Evie lately & haven’t even thought about using other textures & materials other than regular paint brushes. This is such a great idea.
It looks like you had loads of fun! 😀

Love this idea. Great way to introduce creativity whilst learning about textures too. Looks like he had fun.
Thanks for linking #LetKidsBeKids
It’s so much fun exploring textures and prints! And it’s an activity kids can do for quite some time 🙂 #letkidsbekids
Ah, very similar to our activity, yes – great minds think alike! Looks like Monkey had lots of fun with it, too 🙂 xx
Oh, I like this 🙂 I’m going to try some of these with the wee girl!
Oh yes I love this (well apart from the dreaded cotton wool 😉 ) i bet monkey would love the rollers I made from a loo roll and string. I shall tweet the link! (Don’t want to leave spammy comments!)
Thanks for linking up to #ToddlerApprovedTuesday.
This looks great, I looove the expressions on his face! 🙂 x
We love process art – exploring different ways to paint is brilliant!
